Cambrian President Awarded Queen’s Jubilee Medal

On Friday, May 4, Cambrian President Sylvia Barnard was among 60,000 deserving Canadians who were awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Sudbury MP Glenn Thibeault presented the medal to President Barnard and other individuals who have made significant contributions to our community and our country.

The medal program is administered by the Governor General’s office and was created to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen Elizabeth II’s ascension to the Throne as Queen of Canada. Other local medal recipients included Cambrian alumnus and past Chair of Cambrian’s Board of Governors, Abbas Hommayed; Canadian Armed Forces Captain Ray Wiss; and Laurentian University President Dominic Giroux.
